THE ADANI EVENING EDUCATION CENTRE (AEEC) MAKES POSITIVE IMPACT ON STUDENTS

Noticeable improvement in Government Rural Students’ academic performance in State Board Examination due to sustained coaching at Adani Evening Education Program, launched in panchayats around Katupalli Port in Tiruvallur District.  

There has been a marked improvement in grades for students with their participation in the Adani Evening Education centre classes. 

Three students have excelled in the recent State Board Examination

  • S Manu Kumar from Kattupalli scoring 415 marks out of 500 stood first in Kattupalli Government High School
  • P Kannan scored 387 marks out of 500 and came second
  • S Thejesh scored 330 marks out of 500 and stood third

Since its launch, the Adani Evening Education programme, which is made available free of cost to the students, has taken the effort to provide individual attention to students that attend classes and focus on improving areas that they lack in. The tutors have all taken special interest in the needs of the students that attend these classes and the results are there to be seen

The Adani Foundation, through its Katupalli Port team, launched the Evening Education Centre (EEC) in 11 locations of  Kattupalli, Pulicat, Thangal Perumbulam, Kottai Kuppam, Light House, Voyalur, Kattur, Thiruvellaivoyal and Neithavoyal Panchayats of Minjur Block, Thiruvallur Dist. Tamilnadu. In total 310 students are getting benefitted through this program.  

The Adani Foundation is thrilled with the results and seeing the effectiveness of the programme, efforts are on to increase the number of centres to 20 from the present 11. All efforts will be taken to include more students in this evening programme.

The AEEC programme launched early this year was set up targeting students from the 6th to 10th standard and focus on tutoring them in English and Mathematics, while also assisting them with other subjects. These classes are being conducted daily for six days a week from 5 pm to 7 pm. The space for conducting these classes have been provided for by the Panchayat. This programme is largely benefiting students from the fishing and other marginalized sections including the Irula community. 

The AEEC programme is a part of the Adani Foundation CSR programme that is focused on social development intervention in 71 villages from 11 Panchayats.  With a focus on improving the quality of education and life skills benefitting the students of the local community.
